Dr. Chandra Merry, Psy.D. is a licensed Psychologist (R.Psych/ C.Psych) in British Columbia (#2900), Alberta (#5618), and Ontario (#7361). She is the founder of Women’s Health and Trauma Psychological Services (WHTPS). She has received extensive training and professional experience in a variety of specialty clinics across North America, including with: obstetric and gynecological women’s health, veterans, traumatic stress, complex trauma, and chronic and acute pain. She has provided services to clients in medical inpatient, community outpatient, and private practice settings.

Her clinical psychology doctoral research focused on relationships between posttraumatic growth and sexism. Her psychology residency was at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Centre, where she worked with HIV-affected individuals and in transgender care. She was a postdoctoral fellow at Harbor-UCLA Medical Centre with an emphasis on behavioral medicine and women’s health. She has presented and trained other professionals, including residents, on topics like traumatic stress, mental health and sexism, and vicarious trauma, among others.

Prior to becoming a psychologist, she conducted graduate research on feminism and intersectionality. She also completed graduate training in the study of participatory theatre. She is passionate about the promotion of women’s health, and believes that women deserve a space that is uniquely designed to support their healthcare needs. She is collaborative, creative and evidence-based in her approach to the psychological treatment of women’s health concerns, and is well trained in a wide variety of approaches to psychological treatment.
